Many
teachers believe that intelligence is fixed and that a smart boy is
smart
without and effort from her side and student with a limited
capacity will not
improve. This is a common misconception, since
children’s learning is
determined by their effective effort and use of
appropriate strategies. “Intelligence”
is not a fixed inborn limit on
learning capacity. All children gave the raw
material to do rigorous
academic material at high standards. Intelligence can
indeed be
developed and that effective effort and good strategies are the
principal determinants of academic success. Are you with those who
believe in
fixed intelligence?
