Being a teacher...being a mom

Being a teacher was a dream that i dreamed of since childhood. I can remember how i used to arrange my puppets on my bed as if they are in their classroom and teach them. How nice is the feeling of being what you want and reaching your aims. Besides getting my dream true, there is much more to be said when I actually became a teacher. Especially that I am a teacher of grade one and two students', everyday I live a mother experience :). How sweet it is when students call you "mommy"!!! Or when they run to hug you tight. I laughed, cried and had awesome days with these kids. But all in all, I learned how being a teacher in a motherly figure is a big responsibility that requires much more than coming to school with your weekly preparation done. Being a teacher requires you to be a mother and  a friend, to know when to be firm and when to be soft, when to smile and when to frown, when to open a book and teach from it and when to teach from your heart... All what I can say is that being a teacher is the most wonderful thing I ever did. :)

  2. Schools are one of the first places where students’ behavior and future educational success is shape. I believe that teachers must love their career in order for them to pass enthusiasm, to assists, and to provide a warm environment to the students. In my opinion teachers are the second mothers for the students because students spend a lot of time with their teachers. At the same time, I believe a real teacher becomes through many years of training and experiences in the field. The same way, mothers are not born being great mothers but as their experiences with their kids expand they become experts on the field. We know that mothers look the best for their kids and one of their goals is to raise their kids so they can become professionals and pioneers for the society.

  6. I agree with ahlam, being patient is the most important characteristic teacher should have, Its right to say that children spend most of time with teacher, so a teacher to get near from them must deal them like a mother. you are right shatha by saying being a teacher requires you to be a mother and a friend, to know when to be firm and when to be soft, when to smile and when to frown.
